Virgin Voyages Cancels New York Debut

The brand new Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady was due to debut in New York City with much fanfare. However after increased concerns for COVID-19, the March events unfortunately have been cancelled.

Instead, the Scarlet Lady has been redirected to its home port of Miami, FL in anticipation of its preview and inaugural cruises.

According to Virgin Voyages, “We have absolutely no health concerns or issues onboard and elevated our health protocol and processes when we took delivery of the Scarlet Lady to keep our crew and visitors well and happy. With no other events scheduled in New York at this time, we will instead sail Scarlet to her new home in Miami, where we will continue our plans for launch and welcome our Sailors for the first time.”

The new Scarlet Lady will set sail with several 3-night preview cruises in March, with her initial inaugural cruises beginning in April. Virgin Voyages is owed by billionaire, Richard Branson.
