Royal Caribbean announced that the Voyager of the Seas will be entering dry dock for a massive $97-million dollar renovation.

The upgrades will include new features and enhancements and is part of the nearly $1-billion dollar program that Royal Caribbean previously announced.

Included in the upgrades to the ship will be the Perfect Storm water slides which have been recently added to other ships within the fleet.

Kids and teen areas will see many upgrades with new floor spaces, Battle for Planet-Z laser tag and a new exclusive area just for teens. For the very little ones, a new nursery will be added for babies and toddlers.

At the aft of the ship, a new spa and fitness area will also be added which will feature enhanced passenger services and events.

Over 70 new staterooms will be added, which include both interior and balcony classes. A new lounge for suite passengers will also be created during the refurbishment.

Upgraded Wi-Fi throughout the ship and tie-in to the Royal mobile app will be done as well. The mobile app will allow for itinerary, dining and planning while on-board.

The Voyager of the Seas upgrade is scheduled to complete in late October, sailing in Southeast Asia until the end of December when she repositions to Sydney Australia.

The Voyager of the Seas is a 137,000 ton ship with a capacity of over 3200 passengers.
