Passenger on NCL Epic Overboard, Presumed Lost
A passenger aboard the Norwegian Cruise Line Epic has gone overboard while sailing a Mediterranean itinerary.
Initially reported as a teenage passenger, the cruise line confirmed it was actually a 63-year old woman from Korea.
NCL released the following statement;
Early morning on June 8, a 63-year-old Korean female guest went overboard while the ship was sailing from Cannes, France to Palma de Mallorca, Spain. As soon as the report was made, the authorities were notified and a search and rescue operation ensued.
The search has now ceased, and sadly, the guest has not been found. Our thoughts and prayers are with the individual’s family during this difficult time.
Unfortunately, NCL confirmed that the search has been called off for the missing woman.
Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the missing woman during this time.
The Norwegian Epic joined the fleet in 2010 and is a 155,800 ton ship with a passenger capacity of over 4100.
