MSC Cruises Nearing Completion of Private Bahamas Island

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, a private island destination in the Bahamas, will be ready in November 2019.

MSC Cruises is nearing completion of a formerly used sand-mining island in the Bahamas, and currently creating a private destination for its guests.

Located about 65-miles from Miami, the 120 square acre island is part of the Bimini chain of islands in the Bahamas.

The private island will be readied in November of this year – focusing on the private island natural accommodations: water, sand and sunshine! While avoiding the thrills found on competitors islands, guests will see water sports on its lagoon, a lighthouse bar, ice cream parlor and a lunch buffet.

The island will feature a pier – avoiding the need for tendered access – and allowing guests to easily move between ship and shore throughout the day.

After the private island opens, all Western Caribbean itineraries from MSC will make calls to the island!
