More Cruises Cancelled from China
In the last handful of days, the coronavirus has taken both humanity, the cruise world and media by storm.
In trying to limit the spread of the virus, the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) members have agreed to stop allowing guests to board who have visited mainland China or Hong Kong over the last couple of weeks.
“CLIA Members have suspended crew movements from mainland China and will deny boarding to any individual, whether guest or crew, who has traveled from or through mainland China within the previous 14 days,” CLIA said in a statement provided by Bari Golin-Blaugrund, senior director of strategic communications.
Members of CLIA include Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, Carnival, MSC Cruises, among several others.
Nearly 10,000 people have contracted the virus worldwide, with over 400 dead in China since it emerged in the city of Wuhan.
