Holland America Eurodam Stuck in San Diego

The Holland American “Eurodam” is currently stuck in San Diego for at least the next 24-hours due to getting ensnarled in illegal fishing nets.

It was found that the Azipods (for those who aren’t technical – thats the image below) — effectively thats where the propeller powers the ship — became entangled in the fishing nets on her way back from Hawaii to mainland.

Currently, scuba divers are actively removing the fishing nets, which from our source, will take the better part of today.

Eurodam is scheduled to begin its first sailing to Seattle and up through Alaska for her summer cruising season at the end of the week.

Holland America has indicated that this delay will not affect any of her sailings.
