Cruise Ships Cancel Calls On San Juan Port

Over the last several days, Celebrity, MSC, Carnival and other cruise lines and their associated ships in the fleet have been avoiding the San Juan, PR port due to violent protests.

The protests have been related to calls for resignation of Governor Ricardo Rossello after a corruption scandal. The governor so far has refused to resign, further igniting the violent protests in the capital city of Purto Rico.

Impact to the guests aboard the cruise ships has been disappointment due to the loss of a port call, however the cruise lines have been keeping an eye on the situation to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

TheOceanTraveler will continue to keep updating as this is an ongoing, developing event which has the potential of impacting many additional ships who are scheduled to call on this port.
