Cruise Ship in St. Lucia Quarantined Due to Possible Measles Case
According to ABC News, a cruise ship which arrived in port in St. Lucia today has been quarantined and no passengers or crew are allowed to disembark due to a potential of measles onboard.
The chief medical officer of St. Lucia confirmed that the Ministry of Health is currently investigating.
The cruise line and cruise ship have not been disclosed at this time.
Measles is highly contagious and according to the US Centers for Disease Control, there has been over 700 confirmed cases this year so far; nearly a 300% increase from the prior year.
