Carnival is Now Worlds First “Sensory Inclusive” Cruise Line

As one of the largest cruise lines, Carnival Cruise Line, in partnership with KultureCity announced that is has become the first cruise line to be certified “Sensory Inclusive.”

KultureCity is a non-profit that is dedicated to assisting individuals with sensory needs, accessibility and other “invisible” disabilities.

The entire fleet of Carnival Cruise ships will be certified by March 2020, however the South Florida cruise ships have already been fully certified.

The certification includes a full training program that ensures team members, youth staff and other personnel are trained to recognize and assist children and adults with their special needs related to conditions including Autism, Down syndrome, ADHA and more.

Special sensory bags, curated by KultureCity have been created and are available for guests to check out from guest services.  Included in the bags are noise cancelling headphones, a visual feeling thermometer and fidget toys.  A special lanyard is also included to allow personnel to more easily identify guests who may need a little extra assistance.
