After a devastating direct hit by Hurricane Dorian, Grand Bahama Island is now reopened to accepting visitors, starting this week.
Carnival Cruise Line today announced that their cruise ships will resume calling on the Grand Bahama Island port later this week.
The Carnival Pride, Elation and Freedom will also be visiting Freeport over the next week.
Carnival Cruise Line said they expect to make nearly 40 ports of call on Freeport with over 100,000 passengers to the port by the end of the year.
The visitors will bring a much needed boost to the local economy after Hurricane Dorian devastated and interrupted calls on Freeport.
Several shore excursions will be offered including VIP Luxury Sail, Beach Club, among several others.
Additionally, the Carnival Ecstasy entered the Freeport dry-dock on Monday as the first cruise ship to use the shipyard since the hurricane. The Ecstasy will remain in dry-dock for a 12-day refurbishment.
