The new Port Canaveral terminal “3” is to be ready, just in time for the Mardi Gras launch – set to open mid-2020. It will be the ports largest terminal and be the first port in North America to accommodate a ship powered by liquid natural gas (LNG).
The new Cruise Terminal 3, called the “Launch Pad” will be about 187,000 square feet and has a budget of $150 million and includes both terminal and a new parking garage to hold up to 1800 automobiles.
Carnival Cruise Line sees over 650,000 cruisers each year in Port Canaveral. The new terminal is set to accommodate up to 6500 passengers, seating for 1700 guests and includes new technology to speed them through security and embarkation.
