BREAKING: Oasis of the Seas Cancels Three Sailings After Crane Damage
Royal Caribbean cancelled three sailings from Port Canaveral, April 7, 14 and 21 on the Oasis of the Seas after a massive construction crane crashed into the ship last week while docked in Freeport, Bahamas.
The guests booked on those cancelled sailings will receive full refunds as Royal Caribbean is working to repair the ship from the damage.
Several aft suites along with the AquaTheater were damaged; the ship was also listing starboard.
Crew members were evacuated from the Oasis of the Seas immediately following the crane accident. Two cruise ships operated by Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, based in West Palm Beach, FL assisted with transporting 1200 crew to safety.
Photos obtained from Terace Garnier (@TeraceGarnier) at WPBF in West Palm Beach, FL show the damage from the crane by the AquaTheater.
The Grand Celebration and Grand Classica allowed crew members to stay overnight and provided food.
Bahamas Paradise Cruise offers two-night round trip sailings from the Port of Palm Beach, FL to Freeport, Bahamas alternating between the Grand Classica and Grand Celebration, former Carnival ships.
