As Hurricane Dorian traverses the Atlantic and through the Caribbean, its intensity is becoming larger and causing concern for the cruise lines.
Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line, whose private islands are directly in the path of Dorian have closed their private islands.

Additionally, 19 other cruise ships have either relocated to different ports or modified their itineraries to avoid the growing hurricane.
At last check, as of writing this article, the hurricane is in 85F degree waters, heading towards South Florida. The cruise terminals at Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach and Port Canaveral all have notified their respective operating lines to tie down loose equipment and prepare for high winds and potential storm surge.
Ships with itineraries around the storm have notified passengers about relocated port calls, delays and/or cancellations.
TheOceanTraveler is based in Jupiter, FL – close to where the hurricane is forecasted to pass through, so we’re taking the needed precautions as well.
If you’re in the area of the hurricane, stay safe and we’ll see you after the storm passes!
